Frinton Ladies make the most of home advantage

The Frinton ladies played against the Clacton Ladies in the Mail on Sunday knockout event. Matches between Frinton and Clacton are often close affairs and on this occasion Frinton made home advantage pay off narrowly winning the match by three games to two. The individual scores were not so close with decisive victories being claimed in four of the five games. The scores were:
Val Nicholls (Frinton) beat Linda Puntschart (Clacton) by 4 and 3, Sandra Russell (Frinton) beat Angela Barratt (Clacton) by 6 and 5, Marie Ellis (Frinton) beat Emma Hart (Clacton) by 4 and 3, Loraine Motion (Frinton lost to Di Kedge (Clacton) by 4 and 3, Angela Low (Frinton) lost to Jennie Corbyn (Clacton) by 2 .
